Tooth whitening is a popular cosmetic dental procedure that helps brighten and enhance the natural color of your smile without removing any of the tooth surface. Our whitening solutions involve applying a safe, peroxide-based whitening gel to the teeth, which breaks down stains caused by food, drinks, smoking, and wear/tear. Patients can generally expect their teeth to become several shades whiter, with results varying based on the original tooth color and type of staining. While tooth whitening is safe when supervised by a dental professional, some patients may experience temporary sensitivity or gum irritation.

At our office, we offer both an in-office whitening appointment option and a take-home tray kit option. The main difference between these options is the amount of active ingredient present in each.  This means the in-office whitening leads to faster results, but requires professional application due to the higher concentration of active ingredient, while the take-home trays require more applications to see the same color change.  For long-lasting results, we also recommend touch-up treatments with take-home trays or strips, as well as regular brushing and flossing.
